Ridiculous/Believable Combo with Fries
I knew Batman was a good movie when I realized I had suspended disbelief for over two hours. The movie successfully flew under my cynicism radar for that whole time.
In fact, I hadn't even considered checking it as soon as the opening shots were underway. Everything seemed remarkably plausible up until the scene where Batman is with the Joker in the interrogation room.
The image of a man in a black mask with pointy ears having a serious discussion with and sitting across from a clown jarred me out of my haze of faith.
Internal Plausibility Metering:
- Mob using a hong kong company to launder money (check);
- Ensuing rico investigation and indictments (check);
- Harvey dent type district attorney (check);
- Maggie's character being pursued by bruce and harvey (half to three-quarters check);
- Man jumping from the tallest building in hong kong in a hang glider and crashing through an office building window and then escaping in the most ridiculous manner possible (emphatic check)
