Observation

I’m excited to get home today. My first two Netflix films are scheduled to arrive: Letters from Iwo Jima and Seven-Up. Thanks JamesMadison and Rich for the gift subscription.

My queue is now 23 deep and leans heavily toward foreign films. It has one tv series, arrested development. And I’m debating whether to re-watch all episodes of The Wire before the season premiere in January.

Having a projector and pull-down screen is interesting. I bought one of those fireplace dvd’s and when it’s playing it looks as though a wildfire is burning down my wall while classical music plays in the background.

When people see or hear about the set-up, more often than not, transformers and matrix get mentioned. I wasn’t even thinking along those lines when I bought it. I think in a way this has become my shrine to art cinema and the picture size allows me to see gigantic subtitles.
