Doe-Ray-Me

Today, a homeless person asked me to sing him a song. I smiled at his request and offered him a dollar instead. He didn't reach for it. Instead, he again asked me to sing him a song. He looked scary so I decided to oblige.

Wondering where this would lead, I asked him if it was his birthday because 'Happy Birthday' is the only song I know in its entirety. He answered, "No, but let's hear it anyway."

So I sang 'Happy Birthday.' When I got to the part where his name was to be inserted, I said "Bon Jovi" instead. I didn't want to make him feel too special.

He thanked me and gave me a hug. I hugged a homeless man today.

A homeless woman tried to give me a hug a few weeks back. I ran away.
