Summertime
Dinah Washington and Ella Fitzgerald. Love the colors and the interspersed footage in the first clip. Even though today feels like a radiohead type day, it's still summertime. The next hot chance I'll get, I'll go roam on some grass and sip on a Caprisun pouch.
The music reminds me of that embarrassingly underdressed night at african-american museum of art in New Orleans for the unveiling of the Ella Fitzgerald postage stamp. And that reminds me of the fried rice I made last night. I made it a bit soupy to steam the frozen block of brown rice which made the entire thing taste like an asian inspired mushroom risotto. And that, in turn, reminds me of jambalaya. So after a chain of reminders, it was pretty good.
I need to go see a good jazz show soon. When I get back from SF this weekend, I'll pick up an All About Jazz newsletter and shoot Cho's dad an email.
