Violence or Money

INT. BAR - WEEKNIGHT 2A.M.

Two 20-somethings at Odessa, dive bar in the East
Village. On this particular night, the men in the bar are wearing tighter jeans than their female counterparts. The Ramones are playing on the system. BRAD and CHAD are sitting at the bar and drinking Clydesdales (Budweisers) and intermittently sipping from a shot glass filled with Jack Daniels.

BRAD
The Danish drummer in my band
is all about The
Clipse.

CHAD

What do they sound like?

BRAD
They’re a rap group.

CHAD

Violence or money?

BRAD
Violence, no wait,
money, I think.

CHAD

Eh. Probably won’t like
‘em. I like violence.

End Scene.

I liked the conscientious first. Then, the violent. Then, the money. Now, I find myself moving into reminiscent hip-hop territory.

In work related news, my copyeditor asked me today if I heard the news that Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband fathered Anna Nicole Smith's child.
Yesterday, while listening to NPR I heard Terry Gross ask Mark Wahlberg: "So is it safe to assume that being young and beautiful is a liability in prison?" Terry Gross is a freakin' amazing interviewer. She'll go "there" in the most calm manner and in the most soothing voice.

I downloaded the podcast to c-span's "Road to the Whitehouse." It's like MTV Real World except about people who could potentially wield amazing amounts of power. Obama's expected to announce his candidacy tomorrow. Is is weird that I'm going to be metaphorically following the c-span bus in the upcoming year as if Jerry Garcia was on it?

And I laughed today when I came across this picture of Simon Pegg in the new upcoming Edgar Wright movie, Hot Fuzz. I hope it's like Shaun of the Dead in that Shaun of the Dead was a hilarious zombie movie rather than a funny parody of zombie movies. Notice how the handles on his rifles have their own bullet proof vests and bullet strap. That is gangsta.

Friends with rhyming names make me laugh. Also, hooray for Obama!
